FACE à FACE presents BOCCA, a unique design for LYF
The Italian eyewear and design magazine LYF asked a few designers to create a unique frame inspired by a work of art. Pascal Jaulent, Face à Face’s Artistic Director got his inspiration from a work of Dali, the famous “Mae West” sofa, and his team handcrafted BOCCA a one-off spectacular, sensual sunglass, adorned with a pair of divine legs that nonchalantly cross and decross. These unique frames will be exhibited during the optics fair Silmo in Paris and sold by auction. The proceeds will be donated to charity and used to combat trachoma, a painful eye disorder that can result in blindness.

Eavan Kennedy owner of EK Eyewear has this week launched a competition on facebook for people who have registered a 'like' on their facebook page!

"What mischief did your sunglasses get up to this summer?"
EK Eyewear are looking for their facebook friend's funniest & most original pictures of their sunglasses and where they have been this summer. It doesn't matter what brand or style they are. To enter the competition friends just need to post up a picture on the EK Eyewear facebook wall of their sunglasses in the funniest place/scenario they can think of!
The winner will be announced end of July.....plenty of time for them to sport their new Ray Bans for the rest of the summer!

EK Eyewear hosted the Big Fit contact lens open day
Eavan Kennedy, Optometrist and owner of EK Eyewear held a special event on 31st March, 1st April and 2nd April to give expert advice on contact lens options. This event was called ‘The Big Fit’ and everyone was welcome to attend. Eavan talked about the advantages of attending the event and said contact lenses are for everybody, from children at primary school who wear spectacles and do a lot of sport, to adults who want to have the option to choose between frames and contact lenses depending on their mood.
“Contact lenses are very different from many years ago and we want everyone to have the opportunity to see how much they have changed, sometimes people do not realise how easy they are to fit, and this is one of the reasons why we are hosting the event.”
Eavan has recently fitted contact lenses for children as young as nine-years-old who are delighted with their new look and flexibility to be able to play games in school without having to worry about taking their glasses off.
Eavan adds;
“There are various options of contact lenses depending on your needs and lifestyle, there are even contact lenses for those who don’t need glasses and simply wish to change the colour of their eyes.”
Eavan also states:
“Some people who have never worn contact lenses have concerns about trying them but we can assure them that they don’t hurt and once they have them fitted by us they are always delighted with the results and wonder why they didn’t try them before.”
The event was very successful and resulted in a number of new contact lens wearers.
